Thune continues fundraising blitz for Trump, GOP Senate candidates
South Dakota senior senator joined Sen. JD Vance to raise money as Democrats outpace Republicans
Sen. John Thune continues to will the GOP to success in the November election, logging more miles and raising more funds for a Republican Party that has lagged the Democratic Party in overall fundraising.
Last week, Thune raised $2 million for Donald Trump’s campaign at events that raised a total of $4 million for the Republican presidential nominee and Republican Senate candidates.
Democratic affiliated campaigns have raised more than a billion dollars through this summer, according to Open Secrets, a nonprofit that analyzes campaign finance data. Republican affiliated committees had raised $807 million over the same period.
