$4.5M expansion marks next era for Levitt at the Falls
Year-round programming, artist amenities and offices at downtown concert campus backed by private donors
An outdoor amphitheater that draws tens of thousands of concertgoers to downtown Sioux Falls each week is getting a $4.5 million makeover.
Levitt Shell Sioux Falls will head into its sixth season since opening the event lawn and bandshell near Sixth Street and Phillips Avenue readying for campus modifications that will include the addition of a second stage, office and storage space, artist dressing rooms, and a multi-use community space.
“We thought we’d have one band a night. Now on any given day, we can have up to 50 musicians in a very tiny green room and two dressing rooms,” Levitt at the Falls President and CEO Nancy Halverson said. “So we knew that we needed to expand in order to facilitate the experience for our artists.”
