Wholestone putting Sioux Falls pork processing facility on hold
Decision comes as company pursues 2024 venture with Iowa processor
Don’t expect to see dirt moving this spring at the northeast Sioux Falls site that was the scene of a fierce political battle last fall.
Wholestone Farms will not be moving forward with a $600 million pork processing plant in this upcoming construction season, Wholestone Chairman Luke Minion said Monday.
The decision follows Wholestone’s move to form a partnership with Prestage Foods in Iowa. That partnership “moves anything we would do in Sioux Falls back. It won’t be this spring,” Minion said.
