Wells Fargo’s exodus from South Dakota continues
Bank prepares for next step at northern Sioux Falls campus
Wells Fargo is readying for more downsizing at its operations center in northern Sioux Falls.
The San Francisco-headquartered company in early February warned managers and select employees at the 56th Street North and Fourth Avenue campus facility “to prepare for displacement conversations” within its consumer operations divisions that will begin within two to four years. The internal announcement, sent via emails obtained by The Dakota Scout, comes amid ongoing shifts in the banking market.

Wells Fargo once operated a campus there that spanned four buildings and housed more than 1,000 employees. Today, one of the buildings remains in operation, while another has been sold and two others are for sale on the commercial real estate market.
