The challenges of raising a child with a disability are not theoretical. They’re daily. They’re physical. They’re emotional. And they’re relentless.
In our home, our before-school routine takes several hours — helping our son eat, use the bathroom, brush his teeth, get dressed, transfer into his wheelchair and get out the door.
Evenings are just as involved. Weekends, instead of offering rest and relaxation, are filled with continued care and the tasks that don’t fit into our weekdays.
