As a longtime business and property owner in Downtown Sioux Falls, I’ve watched firsthand as this district rose from boarded-up storefronts and low foot traffic to become a vibrant, bustling heart of our city. Many of us poured our time, resources and passion into that transformation. We believed in downtown when few others did. That’s why the city's decision to begin enforcing parking meters on Saturdays feels not only misguided — but deeply disrespectful.
