I was shocked to learn 20 Army soldiers received the Medal of Honor for their involvement in the Wounded Knee massacre. What was so heroic in their actions. As an Army combat veteran in Vietnam 1970--1971, I remind folks of the Mai Lai massacre on March 16, 1968. No medals awarded for this slaughter and coverup. People were charged criminally. Excuse was "just following orders."
Revoke the 20 Medals of Honor since their actions were dishonorable.
Boatswains Mate First Class James Williams.....Seaman David Oullet...two sailors I served with.
SFC Jon Caviani.....COL James Swett....MAJ Jim Taylor.....three men I was in a veterans group with and all five received the Medal of Honor for actions in WWII (Swett) and the Republic of Viet Nam.
Of the five, Jon was also a prisoner of war after running out of ammunition after covering the escape of his team mate.
I invite you to read all five citations and if you do so, you will note that none of them were involved in the killing of innocent women and children.
Senators Bordeaux and Hoffman know I fully support this investigation to HONOR the legacies and memories of these men and others who earned this Honor with heroism and dignity,
I have read all 20 of the Wounded Knee Massacre Medal of Honor citations and in my opinion, MAYBE three of them were earned as Medals of Honor actions require.
In closing, I will say that while I support Donald Trump, I am totally disgusted by the insults he heaped on Medal of Honor recipients in comparing them to Congressional Medal of Freedom recipients. I have no issue with most Medal of Freedom recipients -- especially those recipients whose actions were beneficial to citizens and/or communities.

Thanks for your comments. Given the direction to the panel, I honestly don't know if some, most or all will be revoked, but we're working on it.
Thank you for bringing some light on this important issue.
Thank you gentlemen. Well written.
Thank you, sir.
Bravo! There are issues that both sides can agree on. Glad you found one, let's keep it going.
Thank you, sir. I'm proud to partner with Sen. Bordeaux, it's an important issue, and he cares.

Thanks for sharing, sir. I appreciate your comments and have also read those citations. I'm hopeful we have a chance to make this right.
