A top healthcare industry group in South Dakota is joining a lawsuit to stop the federal government from implementing a nursing home staffing mandate that it warns will shutter long-term care facilities across the state.
The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations is among 21 state healthcare associations that have joined a federal lawsuit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) over a rule that would require increased staffing levels at nursing homes nationwide.
