South Dakota joins U.S. Global Leadership Coalition with launch of advisory council
Future prosperity in the United States and the world depends upon America staying engaged economically and diplomatically, a role the country has maintained since the end of World War II.
That was the message delivered Wednesday with the launch of the South Dakota Advisory Committee to the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.

“We’ve all arrived at the same conclusion: America must continue to serve as a global leader,” said former South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard, who serves as co-chair of the committee with former University of South Dakota President Jim Abbott.
Daugaard, a two-term Republican governor from 2011-2019, was joined by Democratic state Sen. Liz Larson in introducing the event, which included leaders across the spectrum of business, politics, religion, education and nonprofits. Larson has spent much of her life working in developing nations.
