Three to vie for open Sioux Falls School Board seat after Mickelson bows out
Cynthia Mickelson was eligible to run for a third term
Three Sioux Falls residents will run for one open seat on the Sioux Falls School Board this spring, while incumbent Cynthia Mickelson will not seek a third term.
Mickelson’s departure from the race means the five-member board will get one new face after her term expires on June 30. The election to replace her is May 16.
The deadline to submit paperwork and signatures for the race was Friday. Dawn Marie Johnson had already filed last week. She was joined by Brian Mattson and Nicholas Lee Zachariasen by the Friday deadline.
