The Argus quit covering Minnehaha County years ago. The local folks continue to send their reporter to every meeting.

The choice to support local business instead of a distant corporate giant is a clear win for citizens and local governments.

The undeniable truth behind securing this contract lies in the favoritism shown to Dakota Scout, a blatantly far-right 'nrws' source. This is a clear demonstration of how the MAGA agenda rewards those who submit to its radical ideals.

My wife and I always go to the Argus Leader when we want pertinent news that is already two days old, "local" news from all over the country, sports scores and standings that are stale and dated, and of course, the local spotlight always on O'Gorman High School in school sports. Actually, we keep our Argus subscription because it has a pretty good comics page. I guess a little humor may not be the best reason to retain a newspaper. We drove down Minnesota Avenue this morning, passing the old and empty Argus Leader building. The place looked dead. Maybe its time to put the headstone where it belongs. Congrats DS! Maybe your next big coup could be a comics page? Just saying.

In all fairness, I should say that DS's Saturday's guest writer, Neal Tapio, did offer readers a comic page.
