South Dakota’s most notable public officials have been tight-lipped about their fellow Republican Donald Trump facing criminal charges since his indictment last week. But that could change today.
The historic indictment of a former U.S. president Thursday by a Manhattan grand jury on still-unknown charges brought with it a chorus of reaction from elected officials across the country. Allies of the former president have characterized the indictment and pending arraignment as the weaponization of the justice system while adversaries say justice is catching up to the polarizing businessman-turned-politician.
