Dave Roetman resigned Monday after social media posts surfaced
A South Dakota politico who took a job with the North Dakota Republican Party this month won’t be working in Bismarck anymore.
North Dakota GOP Executive Director Dave Roetman resigned from the post Monday after social media posts characterized as sexist and disparaging to women resurfaced following his hiring earlier this month.
Roetman confirmed to The Dakota Scout Monday afternoon that he had submitted his letter of resignation to newly-elected North Dakota Republican Party Chair Sandi Sanford in light of the social media posts, which were highlighted by a North Dakota news outlet last week after The Scout broke the news that Roetman had been tapped to lead day-to-day operations of the North Dakota Republican Party.
“I believe that the best path forward for the NDGOP is for me to take a different path,” Roetman said in a statement following his resignation. “I wish them all the best.”
