Federal judge says NIL settlement case belongs in state court
A lawsuit between the state of South Dakota and the NCAA over a settlement that opened the door to compensation for collegiate athletes should be heard in a state courtroom.
That's the ruling U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier handed down after the NCAA argued that the case, brought against it by the South Dakota Board of Regents and Attorney General Marty Jackley, should be litigated in federal court.
