If the Governor was the office holder that pulled the plug on the contract inappropriately, why wasn't she the one to apologize? Was the settlement as large as it was to avoid having her do that?

I imagine she doesn't have the ability to apologize.

Has anyone totaled up how much Money Kristi Noem has wasted for SD Taxpayers. Horrendous. If you look closely you can witness right here one of the Real Problems in America, Bigotry. Nice.

More Right Wing Extremist Bigotry. Also, mostly cowards hide behind a Fake Name or someone in the CIA, which is it for you?

More left wing inability to answer a simple query. Did you take a look at the link? It's pretty interesting. So if you want to sound like a girl, the feds are on it!

Following is just one really good example of why moderate conservatives use pseudonyms on platforms where deranged leftists have access: Radical Leftists Threaten to ‘Bird Dog’ Conservatives at Home, Church https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/02/01/radical-leftists-threaten-to-bird-dog-conservatives-at-home-church/

Conservatives don't do this to people. Left-wing activists do this.

On March 29, 2022, Noem published an official announcement of her appointment of Joan Adam as health secretary: “Joan has done an excellent job serving the people of South Dakota in her many years at the Department of Health.” Just nine months later, Noem not only cancels the Transformation Project the moment she senses negative flak from conservative voices, but also throws Adam under the "retirement" bus for having executed it on behalf of the state——although only federal money was involved. When sued, Noem then hires outside counsel at taxpayer expense to defend her action. Unfortunately, for Noem , the action was not defensible, which the settlement proves in spades. If there were a god of justice, Noem should pay the $300k settlement to the Transformation Project. She should also pay the attorney fees to the firm engaged to represent her. Finally, and perhaps most importantly of all, she should be forced to have a very official, very public signing of her personal apology to the Project. For that matter, she should sell some of her gun collection and use the proceeds to compensate Joan Adam, who clearly lost her job only because of Noem's reprehensible executive decisions. This is just another example of a woman whose lust for power has run amok.

No apology to the Project is needed. But there might be a need for an apology to the taxpayers for awarding this vile contract in the first place.

The real problem with your governor is that she doesn't have the decency or courage to step up and sign the apology herself. Using a surrogate to sign is cowardly, selfish and disgraceful. If you can come up with some rational explanation for Noem's refusal to accept responsibility, please educate us. Otherwise, I am forced to conclude Kristi Noem continues to represent Kristi Noem. The state is just her stage and we are the extras in the scene.

Government financial support of LGBTQ activism is an affront to normal taxpayers, who for the most part do not support the disgusting grooming and endangerment of minors. She should not apologize.

Kristi Noem was the only defendant of consequence. Her cancelation of the contract——the action prompting the litigation——occurred on December 17, and Melissa Magstadt was not appointed to replace Joan Adam until December 22. Therefore, there is no doubt the final decision to capitulate to the settlement of $300,000 and an apology was Noem's to make. Based on the aggressive "take no prisoners" personality she proudly displays every day, do you really think she would have consented to a settlement had she any plausible legal defense? This apology was legally earned, and Noem has to own it. Unfortunately, we are stuck paying $300k for her executive mistake, plus her attorney fees.

My only complaint is that the sexual groomers got $300,000 out of the deal instead of a cease and desist order preventing them from soliciting and grooming kids.

Once again thoughtless, narrow-minded, knee-jerk action the governor results in large payouts of taxpayer funds after the action is challenged in court. We can't afford much more Noem. Too bad she doesn't have to take personal responsibility for her stupid actions.

Refusal to use compelled speech and refusal to codify rather than treat mental illness should be the standard - not creating a subgroup whose behavior and self identity is utterly subjective and which demands that the rest of society plays along. If there are a lot of LGBTQ+ youth in South Dakota, it's because they are being coached by LGBTQ+ adults, media, and activists to hard-wire what in 85% of cases of gender dysphoria would be a passing phase.

The epidemic of LGBTQ+ is a deliberate choice by those who are promoting and proselytizing children. It's a pedophilic push to create new targets. Some of those people should be in jail and on the Sex Offender List.

Even if the entire cause of being LGBTQ was some kind of subliminal programming of youth and that genetics plays no role (a theory to which most intelligent people and studies would not ascribe), where is the moral and legal justification for cruel bigotry and discrimination in contracts? Everyone is different in some way that others do not find attractive. As the Bible says: "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

These folks would run Jesus over with their car if it made a trans kid feel unwanted for 5 min. I wouldn’t waste time appealing to morality, theology, or reason.

You should get out more. Come out of your mom's basement. You might discover that bigotry and hatred sound exactly like what you said about "these folks."

I’m glad your tax dollars are going to an LGBTQ+ advocacy group. Very kind of Noem to donate it them for you.

Imposition of LGBTQ activism has become a state religion in the US, imposed on people who are appalled at the cruelty and damage being done to young people being funded with our tax dollars. Refusal to support insanity is not cruelty and bigotry. Cruel bigots are the activists who use government and government grants as a hammer to impose an anti-scientific narcissistic ideology on others, particularly other people's children, and to demand that they pay for it and submit to it. Cross dress if you want if you're an adult. Stay out the ladies' room if you have a penis. And explain in cogent terms how this makes moral sense.

There is no evidence, not even a single shred, that genetics plays a role in sex orientation.

Expand full comment

That is not true. Of course, as you know genetics is evolving and more and more is becoming certain, but attached is an article that was from 2019 that concludes to the contrary. https://www.science.org/content/article/genetics-may-explain-25-same-sex-behavior-giant-analysis-reveals

Besides, as I stated "so what"? Even if you were correct, is subliminal programming of youth a good reason to discriminate,

judge, and hate. Are you that perfect?

Expand full comment

You are a complete moron. From that article: "The published study emphasizes that the genetic markers cannot be used to predict sexual behavior."

There is no evidence that homosexuality is genetic. NONE. It's a preference, and it is a choice.

Expand full comment

You cannot publish only the parts you like.

Here for all to see is not only what you quoted, but what immediately followed it:

The published study emphasizes that the genetic markers cannot be used to predict sexual behavior. Still, the work is being hailed as the most solid evidence to date linking specific genetic markers to same-sex sexual behavior. "For the first time we can say without a reasonable doubt that some genes do influence the propensity to have same-sex partners,"

Why did you leave out the part of the study that said: "without a reasonable doubt...some genes do influence the propensity to have same sex partners" ? More importantly, where are the studies that allow you to say genes have been proven to not influence the propensity to have same sex partners? You must really desperately want to believe that we are all made exactly the same even on the genetic level (and that some of us have just been brainwashed into our differences). Disagreeing with your illogic does not make one a moron.

You sound pretty judgy and hateful. Subliminal programming of youth is a really good reason to discriminate, judge, and hate the actions of the adult programmers of these kids.

Expand full comment

If an adult wants to cross dress and Not trespass into spaces that were not designed for them, it's their choice. But grooming kids is not their choice, despite what government and school counselors say.

Well, you might want to take that complaint directly to Noem and her attorneys.

I have no doubt that Noem shares your aversion for LGBTQ activism, but you are missing the point. Nobody had a gun to her head forcing her to agree to the terms of the settlement, including the apology. If an apology had been a deal-breaker, she could have rejected it. It wasn't, and she didn't. I submit that as the state actor whose conduct induced the lawsuit, she should have been the one signing the apology. But regardless of who signed the state's apology, she essentially sold you out, sister, when she consented to the settlement.
