Pheasant hunting is back, baby!
The state of South Dakota is touting the best bird numbers it’s seen in years following the 2024 hunting season, according to recently released harvest tallies from Game, Fish and Parks (GFP).
Hunters took more than 1.3 million roosters during the 2024 season, enjoying conditions not seen in more than a decade, the agency announced Wednesday.
And it was the highest pheasant harvest on record in 13 years.
