A contingent of South Dakota lawmakers wants Sen. John Thune to use his position as majority leader in the U.S. Senate to cut aid to foreign countries.
More than 40 current and incoming Republican legislators, as well as one of their Democratic Party counterparts, have signed onto a letter sent to South Dakota’s senior senator Wednesday highlighting the United States’ ballooning debt level and the country’s “nation-building” foreign policy’s contribution to it.
