South Dakota GOP director appointed to Louisiana governor’s cabinet
Madison Sheahan leaving state after years of service under Gov. Noem, state Republican Party

The South Dakota GOP’s executive director is leaving her post to take a job in a different state capital.
Madison Sheahan, who has been responsible for daily operations of the state Republican Party since January, has accepted a job in the administration of Louisiana Governor-elect Jeff Landry and will serve as his Secretary of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Landry, a staunch ally of Noem, made the announcement during a press conference this week.
“I am dedicated to developing a team that will bring the bold and innovative leadership that this state deserves,” Sheahan told The Dakota Scout. “I’m thankful that Gov.-elect Landry trusts me to lead this department in a new direction — to create a department that truly serves the people of Louisiana.”
