South Dakota GOP committee rejects bylaw changes, preserves nomination process
Proposal sought to limit who nominates at convention
An effort to cut county precinct committeemen and committeewomen out of the South Dakota Republican Party nomination process for constitutional offices has been thwarted — for now.
The GOP’s State Central Committee Saturday in Pierre rejected proposed changes to the party’s bylaws that sought to reduce the number county-level Republicans able to vote on candidates for lieutenant governor, secretary of state and attorney general.
