Software crash disrupts early voting in South Dakota, long delays follow
Tens of thousands of state's residents have already cast a ballot
Long lines greeted would-be voters across much of the state Friday after an electronic vote system crashed.
In Minnehaha County, the line snaked up and down the third floor of the Minnehaha County Administration Building, where early voting takes place. One voter told The Dakota Scout that she had to wait a couple hours.
A sign on the building’s front door warned voters what they were getting into: “LONG LINES UPSTAIRS. Total Vote System is currently experiencing technical difficulties.”
