Smokey haze a Canadian faze: Sioux Falls air quality rebounds
But city received an F grade for two pollutants over a three-year span
Air quality in Minnehaha County and the Sioux Falls area rebounded last year, according to a report by the American Lung Association and an independent analysis of data by The Dakota Scout.
The organization’s report measured air quality in cities across the country from 2021 to 2023, focusing on particle pollution and ozone levels. During that three-year span, the Sioux Falls area earned an F grade for both pollutants, ranking 50th worst out of 223 for particulates and 29th for ozone.
