Slaight-Hansen to appeal Democratic recall vote
Was removed by unanimous vote this month
The former chair of the South Dakota Democratic Party will appeal a unanimous vote that removed her from her post earlier this month.
An agenda obtained by The Dakota Scout for an emergency meeting of the party’s Executive Board on Wednesday shows members will discuss who to appoint to an appeals committee, which will be tasked with weighing whether or not Slaight-Hansen was wrongfully removed.
According to the party’s constitution, acting Chair Shane Merrill of Parker- who moved up from vice-chair at the time of Slaight-Hansen’s removal, is tasked with appointing members of that committee.
