Sioux Falls mayor wants South Dakota lawmakers to focus on needs, not 'culture wars'
TenHaken: Legislature should help city deal with growth, development
Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken suggested this week that state lawmakers stay away from “culture wars” and focus on the basics of providing services to South Dakota residents.
The new Legislature that convenes in January will include a slew of new members who are expected to bring a more right-leaning perspective, including discussion of social issues which have drawn attention over recent years.
TenHaken said during a media briefing that the best thing lawmakers could do for the City of Sioux Falls is to concentrate on the “basic blocking and tackling.”
