Two weeks after losing a bid for city council, a perpetual municipal office seeker in Sioux Falls is once again a free man after spending a night in jail on domestic assault charges.
David Zokaites, a two-time candidate for mayor who also made an unsuccessful run for the Northeast District City Council spot in the April 9 election, appeared before a Minnehaha County judge Tuesday facing accusations that he attempted to smother his girlfriend.
