Sioux Falls buys land near Premier Center with eye on future development
But $2.1 million price tag criticized as a bad deal
Minnehaha County is getting a sweet deal on a couple pieces of property it’s been trying to unload for years.
That’s according to Sioux Falls City Councilor Greg Neitzert, who Tuesday night cast the lone “no” vote on a land swap between the county and the city of Sioux Falls valued at $2.1 million.
But the 7-1 vote in favor of the arrangement means the city of Sioux Falls will be the new owner the former county corrections building along West Russell Road and a structure at 908 West Avenue once used as headquarters for Volunteers of America.
