Sen. Frye-Mueller vows to fight Select Committee
Legislative staffer to testify behind closed doors Tuesday
PIERRE — A South Dakota lawmaker stripped of her legislative privileges amid a workplace harassment investigation will not step down.
Rapid City Sen. Julie Frye-Mueller told The Dakota Scout Monday that the allegations misrepresent what took place in a closed-door meeting last week. Frye-Mueller spoke with the Scout prior to the Senate Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion’s first meeting to probe a complaint filed against her by a Capitol staffer.
“I’m not going to resign, I’m not going to give up, and I’m not going to let them beat me,” Frye-Mueller said before entering the committee room where the nine-member panel of her Senate colleagues began its work to probe the complaint.
