SD Supreme Court opinion bolsters work comp rights
Woman granted benefits for workplace injury even though she had been previously hurt
An employee injured while performing work duties is entitled to receive work compensation benefits even though she previously had a similar injury, the South Dakota Supreme Court ruled.
The ruling, published Thursday, affirms decisions made by the South Dakota Department of Labor and Circuit Judge Christina Klinger, both finding that Destiny Schoon should have received benefits following the injury.
