This week in South Dakota history: April 18-24
Gov. Bill Janklow announced 25 years ago that South Dakotans would soon see a new license plate design.
At the time, the state’s green and light yellow plates were criticized for their lack of readability. They would be replaced by red, white and blue plates with one fewer digit.
