Sioux Falls’ workforce woes have been well documented. Job growth has outstripped available bodies to put into those jobs. That’s particularly true of workers with select skills, and one reason why entities that include the Sioux Falls Development Foundation are on the hunt for such workers — and willing to fit people into training programs.
Now the Development Foundation is launching a new recruitment campaign, entitled “Wish You Were Here.” For the classic rock fan, the title evokes the lyrics of the dreamy hit song by Pink Floyd.
The campaign includes postcards with photos of Sioux Falls and a scannable barcode allowing people to pull up available jobs in Sioux Falls. President and CEO Bob Mundt said his organization is encouraging people to send the postcards to friends, family, former classmates and others who are not currently in Sioux Falls.
