Rural fire and ambulance service providers have been struggling with staffing shortages and funding issues. But for three area providers, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation brought a touch of relief this month.
The foundation – part of the Firehouse Subs sandwich chain – made donations to the Split Rock Fire Department, Lennox Area Ambulance and the Beaver Creek, Minnesota community. The $97,000 will be used to buy lifesaving medical equipment.
The awards were presented in April.
