Paramount Pictures reported several crewmembers were injured while filming a stunt for their new film, Gladiator 2. The accident happened near the end of the day on set in Morocco. A total of six were hospitalized for burn injuries and two more treated and released. The sequel to the 2000 epic stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielsen with Ridley Scott reprising his role as director.
Hollywood’s union troubles continue with the Screen Actors Guild/AFTRA members voting nearly unanimously to authorize a strike when their contract expires at the end of June. The Producers are currently in negotiation with the actors, the directors announced a tentative agreement (subject to approval by the members) and the writers are on the picket line with suggested chants including: “Hey [Studio]! You’re no good! Pay your writers like you should!” and“Network/studio bosses, rich and rude, We don’t like your attitude!” No talks are currently scheduled.
