Retirement around the corner for Minnehaha County Commissioners Jeff Barth and Cindy Heiberger
Reception held to honor their service after penultimate Commission meeting
It wasn’t their final meeting as Minnehaha County commissioners. But Tuesday was the day friends, family and colleagues gathered to say goodbye.
Commissioners Jeff Barth and Cindy Heiberger are retiring next month. Twenty-eight years of combined experience will walk out the door when they leave – Barth having served 16 years and Heiberger 12.
Dozens of people gathered to wish them well at a reception that included lunch and sheet cakes for both commissioners. They also received framed cartoon drawings of the five-member commission seated in their meeting room.
