Repurposing college dorms to increase Aberdeen's affordable housing stock
81 new apartment units in the works after closure of Presentation College last year
Dormitory buildings on the campus of Presentation College in Aberdeen are being targeted for redevelopment as income-based apartment complexes that could add more than 80 living units to Hub City.
The Aberdeen Housing Authority received approval from the Aberdeen Planning Board last month to rezone the North Suites at 2002 and 2202 North Fifth Street from low-density municipal to municipal, state and county use. Those are the older suites on the west of the main campus.
