School district says it acted swiftly when it learned of relationship

The district, meanwhile, denied that it did anything wrong in a statement to The Dakota Scout.

In a federal complaint accusing the district of a Title IX violation, Jenny Griffin says that her former principal at Central, Mike Talley, began grooming her in 2016. Griffin was hired as a counselor at the school in 2011, and at one point after she was hired, Talley’s wife, Jackie, was her supervisor.
In 2016 she started working as a teacher, moving into the same building as Mike Talley. In 2017, Talley invited her to an out-of-state conference and insinuated the two could get drinks and hook up, but that didn’t happen after Jackie Talley also attended the conference, the complaint alleges.
