A lawsuit between City Hall and a group that unsuccessfully pushed to ban new meat-processing plants in Sioux Falls has been closed.
Following the defeat of an initiated municipal measure that aimed to block Wholestone Farms LLC’s plans for a $500 million pork plant in the northeast part of the city, a pending case that the Smart Growth Sioux Falls campaign committee had brought against city officials for permitting the construction and opening of a related butcher shop on the 3601 N. Sorin Ave. site was formally dismissed in Minnehaha County Court without objection from attorneys representing both camps.
Judge Sandra Hoglund Hanson ordered the case closed Wednesday.
