Police chief tired of skirting ‘nepotism issue’ at sheriff’s office
Fallout from investigation of sheriff's wife continues
Aberdeen Police Chief Dave McNeil told Brown County commissioners that he will no longer “tiptoe around the nepotism issue” at the county sheriff’s office.
That came during the commission’s Tuesday, April 30 meeting at the courthouse annex.
It is the latest chapter in an ongoing dispute about the sheriff’s office and jail.
Both McNeil and Sheriff Dave Lunzman spoke during the open forum portion of Tuesday’s meeting. Commissioners listened to both men, but did not ask questions or respond.
City Manager Robin Bobzien and other members of the police department were also at the meeting.
