Owners of demolished McKennan Park 'Monster House' file dismissal in lawsuit
Home sparked years of litigation both before and after it was razed
The owners of a McKennan Park home that was ordered to be torn down five years ago have settled a federal lawsuit with the company that insured the home.
Josh and Sarah Sapienza filed a stipulation of dismissal and proposed order Thursday in the lawsuit they filed against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
A lawyer for the couple did not immediately respond to an email Thursday evening, but dismissals are often filed following successful settlement negotiations. The dismissal was filed just one week before the deadline to submit discovery in the case.
If accepted by the court, the dismissal could be the final chapter in a decade-long drama that captivated much of the city.
