North Dakota utilities commission approves carbon pipeline route
Three-member Public Service Commission unanimously agrees to approve route
Regulators in North Dakota voted Friday to give clearance to a proposed carbon capture pipeline route through the Peace Garden State, delivering a win to Iowa-based Summit Carbon Solutions.
The Bismarck-based Public Service Commission - which functions in the same way that South Dakota’s Public Utilities Commission does - voted unanimously to give clearance for the route that is proposed to shoot out of north central South Dakota into the bordering state.
Summit plans to put roughly 333 miles of pipeline in the state, as part of its 2,500 mile carbon capture pipeline that will be the largest in the world if approved.
