Once Mark Robinson's own sh-t hit the fan, did anybody seriously think he would waste time in South Dakota at an event being ignored by state's Republican royalty? He's running far behind (50%-33%) in the latest poll, and South Dakotans—even those stupid enough to pay $250 to listen to him—can't vote for him. Helene was a convenient excuse.
I hate to be so cynical, but I question the sincerity of Robinson's claim that his campaign is now temporarily on ice while he puts people, i.e. hurricane victims, ahead of politics. My suspicion is he realizes that some Good Samaritan photos might be better for his image than his continuing struggle to think and say something intelligent.

1. He's doing his duty as the NC LTGOV, unlike Biden, Harris, and the Democrat Governor Cooper who have been AWOL.
2. The unnamed "local activists" are Democrat operatives.
