The Kristi Noem family tree could soon be getting more political.
The South Dakota governor’s son-in-law, Kyle Peters, has thrown his hat in the ring for a Watertown City Council seat, running in a three-way race for the Codington County community’s north/northeastern ward.
Working in the private sector as a business development consultant, Peters told The Dakota Scout he’s seen how local governments can foster progress. And being married to Noem’s daughter Kassidy hasn’t done anything to quell an interest in public service and politics, either.
