Noem doubles as 'lousy plumber' in multi-million dollar national ad campaign
South Dakota governor targets workforce recruitment with marketing plan
Gov. Kristi Noem is the face of a new multi-million dollar national ad campaign aimed at drawing more workers to South Dakota.
The governor’s office Wednesday announced it’ll run nationwide television, digital and direct marketing advertisements under a “Freedom Works Here” campaign, in which the second-term Republican governor portrays a “Lousy plumber,” while touting South Dakota’s economy, tax climate and need for workers.
“We have the best economy in the nation, our unemployment is the lowest in American history, and South Dakota’s work ethic has never been stronger. Even so, South Dakota has 25,000 open jobs,” Noem said in a statement announcing the ad campaign. “We need to recruit more workers to fill these positions. We are going to show America that South Dakota is the best place to live, work, and raise a family. I look forward to continuing to build our winning workforce by welcoming new families to our great state.”
