Noem checks own boxes on who Trump's VP should be
South Dakota governor considered betting favorite to run alongside former president on November ballot
If presidential candidate Donald Trump listens to Gov. Kristi Noem’s advice on picking a running mate, it would sound like he should pick . . . Kristi Noem.
The second-term governor took to national television Thursday morning in the lead up to the South Carolina Republican primary, where the former president is a massive favorite over the former governor of the Palmetto State, Nikki Haley.
When asked what Trump should be looking for in a running mate, Noem rattled off qualifications that would sound familiar to her constituents.
“He needs someone who is not a part of the swamp, is a small business owner, someone who has been a commander in chief, someone who can make decisions when things get tough,” Noem said.
Those are some of the exact traits that Noem has used to describe herself, both on the campaign trail and in her time in the Governor’s Office.
