More anti-pot lobbyists headed to Pierre
Lawmakers informed that group that worked against IM-27 will have presence at South Dakota Capitol going forward
The campaign committee that helped block a ballot measure that sought to legalize recreational marijuana in South Dakota intends to be a permanent fixture in state politics.
Protecting South Dakota Kids raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and rallied police chiefs, sheriffs and public officials against Initiated Measure 27, which voters rejected at the polls last month. And now, the organization is forming a nonprofit to have a lobbying presence in Pierre, according to correspondence sent to lawmakers Monday.
