Minnehaha County's top records clerk submits resignation
Register of Deeds vacating position in July
Minnehaha County needs a new record keeper.
Register of Deeds Amanda Halsey has submitted her resignation to the Minnehaha County Commission, giving commissioners notice earlier this month that July 3 will be her last day in the office.
Elected in the fall of 2022, Halsey has been responsible for maintaining and safeguarding public records related to real estate transactions, land ownership, and other vital documents including birth, marriage, and death records. According to a news release, Halsey is departing to pursue a law degree.
