Minnehaha County auditor will not hand count ballots in November election
But Leah Anderson says future elections could use hybrid of hand counting, tabulators
Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson will not propose changes to how ballots are counted in November’s general election.
Citing an expected high voter turnout and a ballot that could be lengthy, Anderson said Tuesday that hand counting votes for this year’s election, which will include a presidential race and several ballot measures, should not be undertaken.
“That would not be a wise decision,” she told county commissioners.
