Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson responded to comments made by a county commissioner Tuesday, calling them “inflammatory insults” directed at her and the voters who support her.
Minnehaha County Commissioner Joe Kippley called Anderson’s behavior embarrassing and unprofessional during Tuesday’s commission meeting. At the time, commissioners were discussing where they stood on giving the elected officials in Minnehaha County pay raises for next year.

Kippley cited a meeting this month in which Anderson allowed supporters to attend with officials from Election Systems & Services and employees with the Secretary of State’s Office. Those people were unaware that Anderson’s supporters were listening in on the meeting.
ES&S is a vendor that operates the county’s vote tabulation machines. The integrity of those machines have been called into question by some voters who argue they can be manipulated.
