A $68 million bond has the endorsement of the Sioux Falls City Council after months of jockeying with the mayor’s office over its plans to bookend the city with new aquatics and recreation facilities.
Councilors on Tuesday authorized City Hall to move ahead with financing to replace outdoor pools at Kuehn and Frank Olson Parks with modernized swimming and rec centers, marking a major milestone in a years-long pursuit by Mayor Paul TenHaken and Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation toward the largest parks initiative in city history.
