Last week’s terrorist attack in New Orleans has prompted the governor of Louisiana to call for the immediate confirmation of Kristi Noem as Homeland Security secretary.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry was expected to meet with President Joe Biden on Monday to discuss a request for a presidential disaster declaration after an Islamic State-inspired suspect placed bombs along Bourbon Street, drove a vehicle through crowds, and opened fire. At least 14 were killed.
