Lincoln County Commission approves $54.8M bond for new courthouse

CANTON — Lincoln County will build a new courthouse after county commissioners voted Friday to move forward with the project.
The Commission agreed to spend about $54.8 million on bonding for a new courthouse and justice center to accommodate rapid population growth in the county. In the past decade, Lincoln County has been one of the fastest growing counties in the United States.
The vote was 4-1, with Commissioner Joel Arends opposing.
