The article in your edition for July 27-Aug. 2, 2023, is very disappointing, but what else can we expect from Sen. John Thune and Rep. Dusty Johnson?
Your headline “Thune, Johnson want answers in Biden probe” is another example of deny and defect of all the indictments and impeachments of Donald Trump.
They believe that the American people deserve transparency and accountability, which most people agree with, however they remain very quiet regarding that of the former POTUS, Donald J. Trump, who continues to spread the “Big Lie.” They are very much a part of the big divide in Congress rather than promoting bipartition actions to work on legislation that puts people before their party and a personal campaign to tear down their opponents in the 2024 election.
The real world of people first seems to have been lost by them. They need to focus on their party’s plans to build a better country, if they have any, as that would be a positive action. But no, they continue to be a part of the party of division. It’s worrisome to me that the GOP has become the Trump old party. Why they continue to follow lock step with someone that has been indicted and impeached is puzzling, especially when his fear mongering makes many of the individuals in their party do questionable things.
I am very proud of the accomplishments for all people that have been achieved and signed into law by President Biden. They continue to vote against President Biden’s bills, but gladly put their hand out for the federal funds that come into South Dakota. And they tout their work achieved these great things — even though they voted against the bills. Yes, we sometimes complain about the road and bridge work being done, which is shortsighted, as the end results should be the focus by all people.

Outstanding!!
I agree! When do we ever hear from Thune and Johnson except to regurgitate the party line and continue to follow the “what about them” defense of Donald Trump
